Hongkong, 15th. August, 1908.

I have the honour to acknowledge

the receipt of Your Lordship's Circular Despatch of the

26th. of May, and to inform you that the Certificates of

Origin for Sugar manufactured in Hongkong will be amended

so as to conform with the model enclosed in your Despatch.

I take this opportunity of for-

-warding in quadruplicate copies of a Notification issued

under the Sugar Convention Ordinance, 1904, and of the

Regulations under the Ordinance which are now in force.

Copies of these documents do not appear to have been

previously transmitted.

3.

After the 31st. of August the

Notification "o. 835 of 1904 will have to be amended by

the exclusion of Russia owing to her adhesion to the

Convention, and as no sugar is imported from Denmark and

the Argentine into this Colony, I propose to cancel the

Notification altogether.
